The revolt in Iran Feb,2011

After the successful revolution in egypt the people in Iran saw that there is a hope of change if they rioted on the streets just like egypt and Tunisia. The crowd in Tehran battled the armed forces of iran which led to the armed forces releasing teargases and trying to gain control back with the use of batons. After dodging the tear gases the crowd had reached the central boulevard and were yelling out slogans like "death to the dictator" and "we are all together". Many of the protesters were arrested for taking part in the rally. The Iranian government had taken this event as a surprise with the amount of protesters that turned out to be there. There was a senario where a man was coming to rescue his wife after she had been beaten brutally by an officer that was trying to disperse all the protesters. As the day became broader more protesters gathered up and the police were retreating. By the time it was evening the protesters got tired and slowly started dispersing. after the revolt had taken place Iran's world wide wed had been disrupted because social media was the method that was used to launch that days rally. So now as the internet had been disrupted the people who had organized the rally could not reach out to the people of Iran anymore and therefore it led to the failure of the revolution, that could have taken place. As the sun set down some of the protesters also burnt down garbage cans.
